伊朗偏远的小山村，一对残障父子家里突然停电，前来维修的电工目睹了艰难维生的家庭情况，踏上了帮助他们的两天一夜的旅程。本片是伊朗导演哈迪·默哈黑自编自导自演的新片，他继承了伊朗电影简洁隽永的诗意风格，用客观中立的视角带观众领略了伊朗人民的淳朴和善意。影片大量使用大远景和长镜头来淡化戏剧冲突，人与人的对话更是让位于各种自然声，留白处令人回味无穷。默哈黑在2015年曾以《长生不死》荣获釜山国际电影节新浪潮单元最佳影片，《风的气息》在2022年釜山国际电影节则获得了金智奭奖。

自西元20XX年，人类从肯亚图尔卡纳湖的湖畔挖出了一个名叫索哈尔(Zohar)的物体之后，便开始对它进行研究，后来有人重建出来所谓的“神之语言”，并建立电脑程式以启动原始索哈尔，进行和上位领域的U-DO(上位领域当中的红色波动存在)连结的连结实验，但很不幸地，从上位领域流入下位领域的能量造成了事象变移，使地球(游戏中所谓的“失落耶路撒冷”)几乎完从从宇宙中“消失”，人类因而被迫逃亡，离开地球。  　　到了四千年多后，在故事开始前十五的T.C.4753年，米尔奇亚行星(Miltia)爆发了所谓的米尔奇亚冲突事件，在此次事件当中，米尔奇亚行星的人类疑似遭到了格诺西斯(Gnosis)的攻击，并在冲突事件后消失，但事件的真相却因为米尔奇亚的消失而不为人知。在事件后，启动原始索哈尔（后来人类制造出了十二具索哈尔模拟体，因此原有的索哈尔就被称之为原始索哈尔）所需的神之语言、原始索哈尔的研究成果、米尔奇亚的U.M.N.座标等事物，都被封存在Y资料当中，而Y资料又被封存在百式观测用合成人(Relian)M.O.M.O.的意识内，然而这么做却引起了各方势力对M.O.M.O.的争夺，因此星团联邦政府(游戏中统治各行星的政府，英文名Galaxy Federation)雇了一个名叫Ziggurat 8的生化人(Cyborg)，以保护M.O.M.O.的安全。  　　另一方面，在米尔奇亚冲突事件结束后的十几年，也就是大约在游戏EPI开始的时候，当时最大的企业贝克达公司以对抗格诺西斯侵扰的名义，进行对格诺西斯用战斗兵器KOS-MOS的开发计划，但和当时多使用合成人(Relian)与生化人(Cyborg)的情况所不同的是，KOS-MOS是个纯粹的机械制品。另一方面，在EPI开始时，参与KOS-MOS开发计划的贝克达公司第一开发局研究人员卯月紫苑，正乘着当时载有还没正式启动的KOS-MOS的Woglinde号太空船进行旅途。但没想到其太空船却被冲著索哈尔而来的格诺西斯所攻击，而KOS-MOS也在此时突然启动，卯月紫苑因而被卷入一连串和格诺西斯及索哈尔有关的阴谋，以及会改变人类命运的事件当中……
